AP Environmental Science is a course designed by The College Board to provide students the opportunity to earn college credits in Environmental Science at the high school level. The course covers a college semester of environmental science using a college textbook. College credits are earned by achieving a passing grade on the AP Environmental Science exam given nationally in May of each year. Colleges and Universities treat credits earned by passing this exam differently, be sure to consult the course catalog of your intended college or university for details on how a passing score on the AP exam is applied.

Ross Durand has been teaching at Rancho Alamitos High School since Fall of 1996 and has been Teaching AP Environmental Science since 2001. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara and a Masters in Science Teaching from Cal State Fullerton. In addition to his time at Rancho Alamitos, Mr. Durand has experience in outdoor education, middle school and teaching an online course for the department of Biological Sciences at Cal State Fullerton.
