2012 Sampler now available
Of course the best thing you could get is my "Goin' Back Out" album (see below), you can get a 10 song sampler of songs from 2012 free (in exchange for your email address). It includes some songs I really like: "Easy as ABC," a song for my kids with words in alphabetical order; "Architect," a song about the Winchester Mystery house; "Cold Comfort," which I had to write a tongue twister for; and my first epic country ballad, "Never." Oh, also my love ballad for Princess Leia, "Space Opera Valentine."
I hope you enjoy it - and if you do, please spread the word.

New Album Available Today
Volume one of my "Hard Rain" songs is available today at CD Baby.com as a digital download. Physical CDs will be available soon.
These are 14 songs inspired by lines from the Bob Dylan classic, "A Hard Rain's a Gonna Fall," about which he once said every line was the first line of a whole song he thought he'd never get to write. Folky, rootsy. substantive Americana. If you love folk, or know someone who does, you should get this record.

Another year over...
Well, I guess I wrote a fair amount of music this year, and am meeting my goal of finishing all my recording for the "Side Effects" CD by the end of the year, so look for that soon.
Here are some links to this year's accomplishments:
VibeDeck - I have set up my own online music store at www.vibedeck.com/rossdurand where you can get several great collections of music!
Song fight - 9 new songs this year, and I end the year at the top of the all-time submissions list for the most submissions under a specific artist name!
February Album Writing Month - a bunch of new songs including 9 more songs in my "Hard Rain" project. Not sure how long these will be up there, since february is coming again soon. So get em while you can!
Nur Ein! - I made it all the way to the next-to -last round of the 6th annual Nur Ein! Competition. It takes a little sorting, but you can hear each of my songs here.
Spin Tunes 3 - I was a finalist in the third Spin Tunes contest. You can the songs at my
VibeDeck page or over at the
Spintunes proper site.
Well, I hope you can find some music out there that you enjoy, and Happy New Year!

Songfight! and Ross fan Spintown makes videos highlighting poor decision making by skateboarders called "Pain for Laughs." The most recent episode just got a blog bumped and topped 30,000. The sound track is Ross' songfight song "Let's get Bloody."
WARNING: this videos shows real people getting hurt, not for the squeemish. Ross did not make this video, but did agree to have his song used in it at Spintown's request, I think it is an inspired fit.
